Frequently Asked Questions
How long are therapy sessions?
Standard session lengths are designed to provide ample time for deep work while fitting into your busy schedule.
- Individual Sessions: Typically 53 to 60 minutes. This “therapeutic hour” allows us to focus fully on your personal goals and progress.
- Couples Sessions: Typically 45 to 50 minutes.
Note on the First Visit:
Your initial intake session is dedicated to gathering your history and defining your roadmap for healing. Please note that this is a diagnostic and administrative meeting; formal counseling will begin in the follow-up sessions once your history is established.

What can I expect to achieve in therapy
While your specific goals are unique, therapy is designed to provide you with the clarity and tools needed to navigate life more effectively.
Most of my clients find success in:
- Gaining Clarity: Understanding the “why” behind your thoughts, feelings, and current life situations.
- Breaking Cycles: Identifying and shifting habits or patterns that no longer serve you.
- Building Confidence: Developing the self-assurance and coping skills to handle challenges with resilience.
- Finding Relief: Reducing the weight of stress, anxiety, or emotional burdens in a safe, non-judgmental space.
Whatever your reasons for seeking support, our work together is focused on helping you feel more equipped, balanced, and in control of your journey.

How long does it take to feel better?
The timeline for healing is unique to every individual. While therapy isn’t a “quick fix,” here is a general idea of the process:
- Immediate Relief: Many clients feel a sense of relief after just 1–3 sessions simply by having a safe space to share their story.
- Noticeable Growth: Within 8–12 sessions, most people begin to recognize patterns and start using new tools to manage daily challenges.
- Lasting Change: Deep, meaningful shifts often occur with consistent, weekly engagement over several months.
Your progress depends on your specific goals and the work we do together. We will check in regularly to ensure you’re seeing the growth you desire.
How can I know if we are good match?
This is a great question. It’s important to feel comfortable and safe with your therapist. The best way to determine if we are a fit is through a free consultation.
During this brief conversation, we can:
- Get a feel for each other’s style.
- Discuss your goals for therapy.
- Decide if my approach aligns with your needs.
Usually, we can tell if we’d be a good match after just one conversation.
